In addition, we look forward to delivering feature programming including audio and video interviews, highlighting news, events and people that make South Georgian Bay such a great place to live, work and play

Remembering Our Friend Frank McNulty

Peak to Shore Music Festival with Frank McNulty

If you met Frank McNulty once, you knew you had just made a new friend. He always had time to talk. He always had a good story to tell. For those of us “townies” we remember McNulty Printing at his first block downtown location back in the day. Frank McNulty was the print guy. We later found out he also was the music guy! He once worked for Motown Records. He was well connected and respected in jazz & blues circles in Toronto and south of the border, especially in New Orleans. He gave us the Collingwood Bluegrass Festival and later established the Collingwood Jazz & Blues Society. Frank was front and centre in the creation of various music initiatives created for the enjoyment of Collingwood residents and visitors to our town. For his tireless efforts in this field along with recognition for his many business committee volunteer contributions, he was awarded the Order of Collingwood in 2008. Ask him how things were going and he often said he was “silly busy,” a term I immediately borrowed and adopted as my own! Sadly, Frank McNulty has passed away. A great friend to Collingwood, Blue Mountain, south Georgian Bay, and to us all. Thank you Frank!

LOOKING BACK: It was an exciting, emotion-filled day on May 8, 2005 as the Collingwood Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 63, hosted a massive 60th anniversary celebration of Victory in Europe Day. (More photos – click here!)

Looking Back to The Way We Were

Over the years, festivals of all sizes and shapes have come and gone. One of the most popular festivals was WORDSTOCK.

LOOKING BACK – COLLINGWOOD AM RADIO in the 1970’s. Our Looking Back series remembers Collingwood AM Radio in the 1970’s, and the people behind the microphones. CKCB was the sister station to CKBB 950 in Barrie, owned at that time by Ralph Snelgrove. Mr. Snelgrove had just sold CKVR Television, Channel 3 in Barrie and had to move the radio station. At this time, he was in the process of opening the new CKBB studios on Ferris Lane in Barrie.
